- Agafay is only 45 minutes from the city — the ideal desert taste when you don't have time for the Sahara.

Excellent — it's a short flight from Europe, walkable, and three days is enough for the medina, the palaces, the gardens, a hammam and a sunset in the Agafay desert without rushing.
Can you do the desert on a Marrakech long weekend?
Yes, but only the Agafay stone desert (45 minutes away) — not the Sahara. The Sahara at Merzouga is 8–9 hours each way and needs at least five days.
