The short answer

Marrakech is on GMT (UTC+0), all year round. Morocco returned permanently to GMT on 20 September 2026 and no longer changes its clocks at all, not in summer and not for Ramadan. That means Marrakech matches London in winter and is one hour behind it when the UK is on summer time.

In more detail

For years Morocco ran on GMT+1 for most of the year and dropped back an hour for Ramadan, which made flight times and tour pick-ups confusing. That ended on 20 September 2026. Any blog, app or old guidebook that tells you about a Ramadan clock change is out of date.

Against the rest of Europe, Marrakech is one hour behind Paris, Madrid and Berlin in winter and two hours behind them in summer. Phones on automatic time should pick it up correctly, but some devices with old time zone data may not.

If you are booking an early airport pick-up or a sunrise balloon flight, check that your phone shows the local time on arrival. If it looks an hour off, set the time manually.

Good to know

  • Winter: same time as London, one hour behind Paris.
  • UK summer time: one hour behind London.
  • No clock change for Ramadan any more.
