Every Atlas tour follows the same easy rhythm — only the valley changes. Here is how a typical full day unfolds.
Your driver-guide collects you from your riad and climbs out of the Haouz plain, the snow line rising ahead within the hour.
Argan cooperative, mint tea in a Berber home, terraced fields and walnut groves — the road follows a clear mountain river the whole way.

The riverside lunch and local walking-guide tip are usually an optional add-on, noted on each tour page. International flights, travel insurance, alcoholic drinks and tips are not included.

When to go. Spring (March–May) is glorious — snow still caps the peaks while the valleys turn green and the rivers run full. Autumn (September–November) is mild and clear. In high summer the mountains stay far cooler than the city, which is exactly why Marrakchis head for them.
Snow and altitude. Oukaïmeden on the Three Valleys route sits at 2,600m and holds snow from December into spring. Pack a warm layer year-round — temperatures up top run well below Marrakech.

Prices are quoted per private vehicle, so the per-person rate drops as your party grows, and every quote is itemised to include your driver-guide, fuel, tolls and parking. Every Atlas tour we run is fully private. You travel with your own driver-guide in your own vehicle, set your own pace, and stop wherever a view, a tea house or a Berber village catches your eye. We never pool you onto a coach with strangers — the only people on board are your party.
The foothills are surprisingly close. The Ourika Valley is about an hour and a quarter south of the city, and Oukaïmeden sits roughly two hours out at 2,600m. The Aït Ben Haddou route is the longest because it crosses the High Atlas via the Tizi n'Tichka pass — count on around four hours each way, which is why we start that one early.
For waterfalls, a riverside lunch and an easy first taste of the range, choose the Ourika Valley. For the full sweep of the High Atlas in a day — ski village, Toubkal valley and walnut groves — choose the Three Valleys. For cinematic earthen kasbahs on the far side of the pass, choose Aït Ben Haddou over the Tizi n'Tichka. First-timers with one free day most often pick Ourika.
Yes. The Ourika Valley trip includes a guided scramble to the Setti Fatma waterfalls (about an hour each way), and the Three Valleys day has a one-to-two-hour guided walk through Berber villages and terraced fields. Yes. Oukaïmeden, at 2,600m on the Three Valleys route, is Morocco's highest ski station and usually holds snow from December into spring. The high passes and Jbel Toubkal keep snow even later. Winter day trips are spectacular and clear — just pack a warm layer, because temperatures up top sit well below the city.
Yes. Pickup and drop-off at your Marrakech hotel, riad or apartment is built into every Atlas tour at no extra cost. For riads deep in the medina where vehicles cannot reach, your driver-guide meets you at the nearest car-accessible gate and walks you in.
Shoes with grip for wet rocks and uneven paths, a warm layer (the mountains run far cooler than Marrakech, and Oukaïmeden can be snowy), sun protection, and a little cash for the optional riverside lunch and local walking guide. We refill your water bottle on the road throughout the day.
