Why Atlas Mountains
Stand on a Marrakech rooftop in winter, look south, and the snowline of the High Atlas is staring right back at you. The range climbs straight off the city plain, and within an hour you can be standing in Imlil at 1,740 m, surrounded by Berber villages, walnut and cherry orchards and paths that lead up toward Jbel Toubkal — at 4,167 m, the highest peak in North Africa. That sheer proximity is the point: from Marrakech the Atlas works just as well as an easy day trip, a quiet weekend at a mountain lodge, or a full two- to three-day trek with guides and mules — and never asks for a long transfer.

Can you climb Toubkal without a guide?+
No — a licensed guide has been compulsory since 2018. We use a small panel of certified local mountain guides we've worked with for years, and they take care of the permit too.
Is the Atlas worth it if I don't want to trek?+
Absolutely. Asni, Ouirgane and Ourika all offer comfortable lodges paired with short, gentle walks, and plenty of our guests treat the Atlas as a calm two-night decompression just an hour out of Marrakech.
