The short answer

The 37th Marrakech International Marathon is on Sunday 31 January 2027, starting at 07:45 with a 5 h 30 time limit. A 5 km fun run is on Saturday 30 January at 09:00. Online entries close on 24 January 2027. The route is a flat city loop through the Palmeraie and around the ramparts.

In more detail

These details come from the race's official site, checked in October 2026. The full and half marathon run on the Sunday; the 5 km "Course for All" on the Saturday morning is open to everyone.

January suits running. Our climate table gives highs of about 19 °C and lows of about 6 °C, and sunrise is at about 07:30, so the start is in early light and cool air. Expect cold hands at the start line.

For non-runners, the main effect is road closures on Sunday morning and fuller hotels that weekend. If you have an airport transfer or a day trip on 31 January, allow extra time or start after the roads reopen. The same week is the Moroccan school break, from about 24 to 31 January 2027, which also brings domestic visitors. If you are running, book your riad or hotel early, as runners fill rooms that weekend. Entries for the race close a week before, on 24 January 2027.
