The short answer
The Menara Gardens, the Cyber Parc and the Koutoubia gardens are free public spaces. Menara's olive groves and great basin give the most room, with wide flat paths and Marrakchi families picnicking. The Cyber Parc, between the medina and Gueliz, is shaded, with fountains. The Koutoubia gardens sit a five-minute walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa.
In more detail
Menara is about ten minutes by taxi from Jemaa el-Fnaa and open daily, roughly 08:00 to 18:00 when we checked in October 2026. It is open, flat and relatively peaceful compared with the souks, and busiest with local families in the late afternoon and at weekends.
The Cyber Parc, also called Arsat Moulay Abdeslam, is an old royal garden replanted as a public park with orange and olive trees. It makes a green shortcut between the medina and Gueliz and a quiet break by the busy avenues.
The Koutoubia gardens are an easy stop in the middle of a medina day, flat and close to the square. Pair a run-around there with the drummers and acrobats of Jemaa el-Fnaa in the early evening.
