The short answer

It can be, with one catch in 2027. England's February half-term, 15 to 19 February 2027 in most areas, falls inside Ramadan, which is expected to run from about 8 February to about 9 March. Days are mild, but monuments close earlier, about 16:00 at the palaces, and daytime is quieter. Easter follows just after Ramadan ends.

In more detail

Weather-wise, February is a good family month. Days reach about 20°C, nights drop to about 8°C, and the summer heat that tires children is months away. Desert nights are cold, so pack warm layers for Agafay or the Sahara.

Ramadan changes the rhythm. Riads and tourist restaurants serve by day, so feeding children is not a problem, but many local cafés close or cut back until sunset, and it is courteous not to eat or drink openly in the street. Sightsee in the morning, since palaces close earlier. The evenings are the bonus: after ftour, the square and souks fill with families.

Easter 2027 falls about 26 March to 11 April, just after Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, and is a spring peak, with the best weather of the year for the Sahara. Book Sahara and Atlas trips early for that window.

Morocco no longer changes its clocks for Ramadan; it stays on GMT all year. Tell us your dates and we will plan around the closing times.
