The short answer
June is the month the heat arrives in Marrakech. Average highs are about 33 °C and lows about 18 °C, with rain very rare. Early June is usually comfortable for sightseeing in the morning and evening; by the end of the month it feels like full summer. Long evenings help: sunset is about 19:40 around the solstice.
In more detail
Our climate table marks June as the month the heat starts. It is not yet July, but middays in the medina are hot, and the narrow lanes hold the warmth. Plan sights for the morning and rest in the afternoon, and you will find June very workable.
The long days are the bonus. Sunrise is about 05:30 and sunset about 19:40 near the solstice, because Morocco is on GMT all year now. That gives early mornings for Majorelle and the palaces and a long, warm evening on the roof.
June is also festival season on the coast. The Gnaoua and World Music Festival in Essaouira ran from 25 to 27 June in 2026; the 2027 dates had not been announced when we checked, and Essaouira's rooms sell out when they are. For the Sahara, June is warming fast and early June is the last comfortable window until autumn.
