The short answer
Yes. A city bus link runs from Marrakech Menara Airport into town, and it is the cheapest way in. Check the current route and hours on the day, because we do not track its timetable. With luggage and a riad deep in the medina, a petit taxi or a pre-booked transfer is usually easier, since no bus reaches the lanes.
In more detail
Marrakech has a city bus network, run by Alsa, that covers the main corridors between the medina, Gueliz and the outer districts. It is very cheap, though routes and crowding take a little patience to learn. There is also a hop-on, hop-off tourist bus that loops the main sights.
The airport bus works best if you travel light and are staying near a main road. If your riad is in the lanes, you still have the walk from the nearest stop, with bags, in a maze you do not yet know.
Petits taxis also serve the airport, usually at a set airport rate rather than the meter, so agree it before you leave. A pre-booked transfer takes the guesswork out: a fixed fare, a name board in arrivals and a driver who knows which gate is closest to your riad.
Good to know
- Have small change ready for the bus; do not count on paying by card.
- Check the last bus time if you land late in the evening.
- For a late or delayed flight, a flight-tracked transfer is the calmer option.
