The short answer
The Agafay desert sunset and the Essaouira day trip are the gentlest: both are rated easy, and most of the day is spent in the car, at a camp or on the flat. The sunrise balloon is easy too. The Ourika, Three Valleys and Aït Ben Haddou trips are rated moderate, with rocky scrambles or kasbah climbs.
In more detail
Agafay is the easiest outing. The drive is about 40 minutes, you choose a camel or quad ride or simply sit it out, then take mint tea at sunset and dinner in camp. Our trip is rated easy. Essaouira, also rated easy, is a longer drive of about 2 hours 45 minutes each way, but the town itself is flat, with free time in the walled medina and a walk on the sea ramparts at your own pace.
The sunrise balloon is rated easy as well. It starts before dawn, the flight is calm, and breakfast is in a Berber tent on landing. Check the operator's mobility rules, since getting in and out of a basket takes some agility.
The mountain days ask more. On the Ourika Valley trip, the walk to the first Setti Fatma waterfall is a guided scramble over rocks, about an hour each way, though you can skip it and stay by the river. The Three Valleys loop includes a guided walk through walnut groves and villages. At Aït Ben Haddou you cross the river and climb the earthen village with a local guide.
Every trip is private, so the plan can bend. Tell us how far you can comfortably walk when you ask for a quote, and we will leave out the hard parts and keep the car close.
